Family is important in Hawaiian culture. And food, as sustenance, keeps a family together and in harmony. Meals shared together are therefore integral to a healthy family.
When Edward Mafnas was offered to be the Executive Chef of Lē`ahi Concept Kitchen at the Waikīkī Parc Hotel, he asked if he could bring his team that had an established track record of working well together. He was ecstatic to do so. The first thing you see when you meet the congenial Chef Eddie, is his signature smile.
But things get better. Chef Eddie is also an alumnus of the very Culinary Arts Program that unites the partnership between the Halekūlani and Kapi`olani Community College.
Chef Eddie brings with him years of experience in the food service industry. His parents owned a family bakery, he has operated a food truck with prize-winning results, he has been a kitchen manager, bartender, expediter, trainer and server at the Cheesecake Factory, and he has been a private chef to several clients.
Chef Edward Mafnas possesses a passion for food and family. Even if dining alone, he and his staff are sure to provide an extraordinary experience that can only come from a team that enjoys what they do!
